Update: v1.1.2 released, new packages available

Today we passed 500 sites using the Installer, and are quickly approaching 20+ new sites per day. Thank you!

This week we have two new packages for you, as well as a code update to the Software Installer. Please read the entire message as I have a small favor to ask before you go.

Software Installer 1.1.2 Available

This new version has three new features. The most noticeable is the new "binoculars" icon on the main page - this allows you to report new versions of software when the become available, allowing us to get updates out to you faster.

The other new features are accessed via the Parameters button. You'll find four new items:

Repository URL an Channels, which you can ignore unless asked to change them by a support person.

"Force Install" (which works for Pro users only) will allow you to overwrite currently installed packages.

You can use this to refresh a damage packaged, or take control of a package that has been previously installed. PLEASE read the warnings - this is a powerful feature intended for use by expert users - you can damage your system if you aren't careful.

The "Download Only" checkbox (available to all users) allows you to download and inspect a package before install.

This is the first of a series of security / trust enhancements we're adding to the software. Others will include manifest signatures and md5 checksums.

New Pro Packages Available

Jumi allows you to include PHP code directly into your articles and module positions.

sh404SEF search engine friendly URLs has made its way to the system as well.
