The first meeting of the new Louisville PHP Users Group will happen end of this month.

I’ll be there (Nick Temple), so will my co-conspirator Jason McCreary, and many others using PHP for real projects – open source and commercial – in the Louisville area.

There will be swag, as a well as an overview of the php|tek conference, and a chance to tell us what you’re looking for in the PHP Users Group.

And, of course, we’ll be talking code.

I’m especially interested in meeting people looking to learn PHP, either with experience in other tech areas or just kicking the tires.  There’s a lot of development opportunities in Louisville, locally, so even if you are just interested in finding out what it’s all about, I encourage you to spend a couple of hours with us.

Joomla 1.5.26 Released

The Joomla! core team has released 1.5.26 as a minor security release. The upgrade has been available to Pro users for about two weeks, and all seems good. Find out more about the Joomla!Software Installer Pro and Joomla! 1.5.26

JomLink: Joomla Link … a piece of software, usually module, component, plugin or some combination of the three.  For example the AWeber Jomlink links 9or “bridges”) the AWeber email marketing service with Joomla.  An iContact Jomlink would …. well, you get the idea.  You can find joomla bridges over at the extension store.

Since the release of Joomla! 2.5, we’ve been testing and updating all our joomla components and plugins to work with the new, long term stability release of Joomla!

With warnings turned on, we kept seeing warnings such as:

“Warning: constant() [function:constant]: Couldn’t find constant JPATH_ in librairies/joomla/installer/adapters/module.php on line 117″

and

“Warning: constant() [function:constant]: Couldn’t find constant JPATH_ in librairies/joomla/installer/adapters/module.php on line 119″

I googled for a while, found references to .sys.ini files and other problems, but nothing that addressed how to fix this easily.
